Description
An incredibly addictive and easy-to-make chicken dish featuring cream cheese, ranch seasoning, bacon, and cheddar cheese.
Ingredients
2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
2 blocks (16 oz) cream cheese, softened
1 packet (1 oz) dry ranch seasoning mix
8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1/4 cup green onions, sliced (optional garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Place the raw chicken breasts in the bottom of a slow cooker in a single layer.
Step 2: Place the blocks of softened cream cheese on top of the chicken and sprinkle the entire packet of ranch seasoning over everything.
Step 3: Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4 hours until the chicken is tender and easy to shred.
Step 4: Remove the chicken and shred it using two forks or a hand mixer, then return it to the slow cooker.
Step 5: Stir the chicken into the melted cream cheese and ranch mixture until well combined.
Step 6: Add the shredded cheddar cheese and half of the crumbled bacon, stirring until the cheese is completely melted.
Step 7: Serve warm, topped with the remaining bacon and sliced green onions.
Notes
For a lower-fat version, use light cream cheese and turkey bacon. For an Instant Pot version, cook on high pressure for 15 minutes with 1/2 cup chicken broth.
