Description

Ingredients

1 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup shredded carrots
1/4 cup honey
1 large egg
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (for frosting)
2 tablespoons peanut butter (for frosting)


Instructions

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 6-inch round cake pan with coconut oil or non-stick spray.
Step 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together the egg, 1/4 cup peanut butter, oil, honey, and applesauce until smooth.
Step 3: Stir in the shredded carrots until they are evenly distributed throughout the wet mixture.
Step 4: Gradually add the whole wheat flour and baking soda to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined to ensure a soft texture for your dog cake recipe.
Step 5: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Step 6: Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack before frosting.
