An incredibly easy and refreshing layered dessert featuring a crunchy Oreo crust, creamy cheese, smooth vanilla pudding, and airy whipped topping.

1 ½ cups finely crushed Oreo cookies (about 18-20 whole cookies)
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
8 oz container thawed whipped topping (like Cool Whip), divided
Two 3.4 oz packages instant vanilla pudding mix
3 cups very cold milk
Optional: Chocolate shavings, cocoa powder, or fresh berries for garnish


Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the crust by combining 1 ½ cups of finely crushed Oreo cookies and ¼ cup of melted unsalted butter. Mix these thoroughly until the crumbs are evenly moistened. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Refrigerate the crust for at least 15 minutes to allow it to set and firm up.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, beat 8 oz of softened cream cheese, 1 cup of powdered sugar, and 1 tsp of pure vanilla extract together until the mixture is completely smooth, airy, and free of any lumps. Gently fold in half of an 8 oz container of thawed whipped topping until just combined. Carefully and evenly spread this cream cheese mixture over your chilled cookie crust.
Step 3: In a separate medium-sized bowl, whisk together two 3.4 oz packages of instant vanilla pudding mix with 3 cups of very cold milk for exactly 2 minutes. Let it sit undisturbed for another 1-2 minutes to allow it to firm up even further.
Step 4: Once the pudding has thickened, carefully and gently spread this rich vanilla pudding layer over the cream cheese layer in your baking dish, smoothing it out evenly.
Step 5: Gently spread the remaining 4 oz of whipped topping over the pudding layer. Use an offset spatula to achieve a smooth, professional-looking finish, making sure to cover the entire pudding layer evenly.
