Description

The timeless, creamy Knorr spinach dip recipe is a beloved party appetizer, incredibly easy to make with just a few ingredients and no cooking required. Perfect for holidays, potlucks, and casual gatherings, it's packed with savory spinach, crunchy water chestnuts, and fresh green onions, all blended into a luscious sour cream and mayonnaise base.

Ingredients

Scale

1 package (10 oz) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed very dry
1 package (1.4 oz) Knorr Vegetable Soup Mix (or Knorr Vegetable Recipe Mix)
1 container (16 oz) sour cream (full-fat recommended)
1 cup mayonnaise (full-fat recommended)
1 can (8 oz) water chestnuts, drained and finely chopped
3 green onions, thinly sliced

Instructions

Step 1: Thaw the frozen chopped spinach completely. Place the thawed spinach in a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth and wring out as much excess water as possible. This step is crucial to prevent a watery dip.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the thoroughly squeezed dry spinach with the Knorr Vegetable Soup Mix. Stir until the spinach is evenly coated.
Step 3: Add the sour cream and mayonnaise to the spinach and soup mix. Stir everything together until the mixture is smooth, creamy, and well combined.
Step 4: Fold in the finely chopped water chestnuts and sliced green onions. Mix gently until they are evenly distributed throughout the dip.
Step 5: Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight. This allows the flavors to meld and deepen for the best taste.
Step 6: Before serving, give the dip a good stir. Serve chilled with pumpernickel bread, an assortment of crackers, or fresh vegetable crudités.

Notes

For the best flavor, make sure to thoroughly squeeze all excess water from the thawed spinach. Chilling the dip for at least 4 hours (or overnight) is essential for the flavors to fully develop. Serve with pumpernickel bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables.
