Description
A light, flavorful, and incredibly soothing chicken broth infused with fresh ginger and turmeric, perfect for managing Mounjaro-related nausea and indigestion.
Ingredients
6 cups low-sodium chicken broth
1-inch piece fresh ginger, thinly sliced
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric (or 1/2 inch fresh turmeric, sliced)
2 cloves garlic, crushed (optional)
1/2 cup cooked, shredded chicken breast (optional, for protein)
Salt to taste
Fresh lemon juice, to taste
Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
Step 1: In a medium pot, combine low-sodium chicken broth, sliced ginger, ground turmeric (or fresh turmeric), and crushed garlic (if using).
Step 2: Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 30-40 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Step 3: Strain the broth through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean pot or bowl, discarding the solids. This ensures a clear, smooth broth.
Step 4: If desired, add the cooked, shredded chicken breast to the strained broth and heat through for a few minutes.
Step 5: Season the broth with salt to taste. Stir in fresh lemon juice just before serving.
Step 6: Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro, if using, and serve warm. Enjoy this soothing broth as a gentle meal or snack.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, use vegetable broth and omit the chicken. Adjust ginger and turmeric to your preference. Honey can be added for a touch of sweetness if tolerated.
